10 tuned me into KEXP, a hip Seattle music station that's really using the Web well to connect with their listeners and find new ones. I don't usually listen to streaming music, my iPod if filled to the rim with bits and beats, but KEXP has taste and I've been enjoying their playlist. Well done. Check it out friends. No Dave, No! Mike Arrington (Crunch Notes) but it looks like this isn't the 1st time he's talked about shutting down his blog. Maybe he'll keep the Wordpress version of Scripting News going or maybe he's just crying out for more appreciation. Related: Too much blogging? Cool ideas are useless without great needs -- this is the classic engineers' entrepreneurial mistake (or at least I'd like to think so, since I've made it). Techies love tech, and a new technology can produce a lot of companies that don't really meet a need. Better to start with the need, and then see how what you know can produce a better answer to that need. - Entrepreneurial Proverbs [O'Reilly Radar] Posted by Cale | Permalink

I want to try this - Kite Aerial Photography HOW TO. It looks like Scott Haefner is a real expert in the area - nice photos on his site. It looks like it will take some time to put the equipment together but it might be worth it. Posted by Cale | Permalink

I like what Microsoft is doing with Windows Live. Some people think it's a hacked and desperate attempt to keep up with the Web 2.0 innovators but I give Microsoft a lot of credit (a massive company) for seeing the need, developing a plan, and implementing it quickly - like a small business or start-up would. In my opinion they're running circles around the Google camp. I also think they're developing some really high quality products and services - better yet, a lot of it is free. Check some of it out! Bruce, CEO of Fosters, shouted to the Barman: "In 'Strylya, we make the best bladdy beer in the world, so pour me a bladdy Fosters, mate." Bob, CEO of Budweiser, calls out next: "In the States, we brew the finest beers of the world, and I make the king of them all, gimme a Bud." Hans, CEO of Lowenbrau, steps up next: "In Germany, ve invented das beer, Ferdamnt. Give me ein Lowenbrau, das ist der real King of beers, danke." Paddy, CEO of Guinness, steps forward: "Barman, would ya give me a diet coke with ice and lemon. Thanks." The others stare at him in stunned silence, amazement written all over their faces. Eventually Bruce asks: "Are you not going to have a Guinness, Pat?" Paddy replies "Well, if you fookin' pansies aren't drinkin', then neither am I!"

Spend some bank on customizing your gadget today! Smooth Creations, an Oregon company, is taking gadget customization to the next level by painting prized laptops, Ipods, and other gadgets. Check out some of their work - pretty cool. Personally, I'd have a hard time justifying the expense - the shelf-life of even my most prized gadget is less than twelve months and that's being generous but I can see a healthy niche market for aspiring artists developing here.
